---Prologue
It wasn’t often that Raven Blackheart left his house. In fact, in the 6 months that he had lived in this new one, he hadn’t even walked outside very much. He was a shut in. A recluse. Everything that he once known and loved had left him. Including his Sara. However, when the call came in from SH!TAKi Pro Wrestling to come to Japan and wrestle for them, he jumped at the opportunity. He hadn’t gotten an offer to wrestle in a long time. A very long time. Ever since Sara had left him, his value had left him. He went to Mexico for a couple of months to test his craft there, and the fire was there. However, it quickly fizzled out and he immediately went back to hitting the drugs. Cocaine was his drug of choice. Followed by weed. The promotion finally recognized his drug problem, and he was immediately fired. So imagine his surprise, when after he hung the phone up with SH!TAKi, none other than the love of his life, Sara, would call.
The two had an awkward conversation at first. The normal how’ve you been, what’s new, etcetera. After an abnormally long pause, Sara broke the news to him. That she had gotten the same call that Raven had. The call from SH!TAKi. They wanted her to manage him once again. To see if the two could rekindle the old fire they had on the American Independent scene. The tone in her voice told Raven she was absolutely skeptical about this. However, he quickly reassured (lied to) her that his feelings for her were strictly in a manor of friendship, and that he held no feelings for her anymore. Instantly, her tone changed into the old Sara. They flew to Japan next week. There, the two would see each other for the first time in two years. There, he would lay his eyes on the one girl he never thought he’d see again. For the first time, in a long time, life was looking up for Raven.
---- Scene #1: Meeting of the Minds.
Japan
The time had come. Japan. Honestly, Raven couldn’t have been more nervous. He’d never been out of the country. Especially on a plane that took almost 18 hours to arrive in Osaka. He was sweating bullets. Honestly, he was more nervous for the first meeting with Sara than he was for the wrestling match against one Ash Bloodstone. He had gotten his match orders the day before he flew out, and he sat in front of the computer watching a couple of the guys matches. He was impressive. That’s for sure. Nothing that he couldn’t overcome. He wasn’t sure too much about how to study his opponents anymore, but he knew Sara would. Sara always knew what to do. She was perfect. In every aspect of the word. It honestly kind of made him a tad bit sad that he couldn’t attempt to prove his love to Sara anymore. It was kind of the reason she agreed to work with him again, because he said he didn’t love her. A slight sigh escaped his throat as he ran his hand through his hair. The dark purple strip in his hair fell into his line of site. He gently brushed it back, just as Sara would. He closed his eyes. He could smell her. He could feel her. Raven missed the hell out of her, and it was only going to be worse since he was constantly going to be involved with her. He felt the plane begin it’s decent. Osaka. Sara told him she’d wait for him at the café inside the airport. With his heart racing, Raven began shaking his foot. Nerves. It was all it was. He wasn’t sure what she’d look like, or how she’d feel about him anymore. He swallowed as the plane landed.
After a few minutes, he was standing in the middle of the airport with his luggage in hand. He wasn’t sure if he was going to rent a house out in Osaka, or just make the trip back and forth from his home to Japan every other week. He’d figure it out once his head was clear. Right now, right now he had to find his Sara. It didn’t take him long to find the café, and after finding it, it didn’t take him half a second to find Sara, sitting at the table with her blonde hair, and her hand wrapped around a cup of coffee, like it always was. It was his Sara, exactly the way he had imagined her. She quickly looked up and saw Raven standing there. She studied him for a minute, lips pursed. The anticipation was killing him. He gave a quick swallow. Her lips turned upwards into a smile and she stood up. Tentatively she made her way over to him and slowly wrapped her arms around him for a hug. Immediately, his arms found the small of her back, and he held her in his arms, for the first time in a long time. She broke the hug a bit too quick and walked back to the table. He followed, a pace behind. The two sat down. Sara cleared her throat.
“Raven Blackheart. My God..You haven’t changed a bit. You still have that stupid purple streak in your hair. I always told you, you looked better with red.”
[/I]Raven gave a grin.[/I]
“It is good to see you too, Sara. I’ve, honestly missed you. “
Sara gave a quick smile, and rolled her eyes as her face cleared.
“Shut up, Raven. Ash Bloodstone is your only care right now. Not be, not our friendship, we have to win this match. Mkay? So we’ll talk about us after the match. So back to Ash. Do you even know anything about him?”
“No…I uh, I don’t really have internet or anything at my house. I barely have television. I’ve never heard of the guy, if that counts?
A sigh escaped Sara’s throat. Visibly annoyed with everything going on.
“Raven, if you’re actually going to win, if you actually want ME to stick around.. You’ve got to start training your mind along with your body. Jesus… Speaking of your body. You’re white as a ghost. When’s the last time you’ve even seen the sun?
“I don’t go outside. I don’t do anything. I just… Exist. Pretty much.”
“Well that’s over with. Every day. Six AM. You’re waking up. We’re going on a three mile run, in the sun. Cold, hot, rain, snow. We’re getting you in top shape so you can be the top guy in SH!TAKi. Understand?
Raven signed and nodded. The two sat there in silence for a few minutes. Finally, Sara got up and gave Raven a passing glance. Her eyes rested on him and somewhat became soft for a minute. She quickly regained her composure and glared.
“Look. If you don’t get yourself in shape, you can’t prove to everyone what I know. That you’re one of the best damn workers on the planet…Just…Don’t let me down, Raven.. Please?”
She placed her hand on his shoulder for a second, and quickly walked away.
----Scene 2: Ash. Welcome to parts unknown.
[/I]Candlelight was the only thing that the camera picked up. As it panned around the room, it finally sets on a figure, sitting in the corner. The person’s dark stringy hair had fallen in his face. There was a strip of bright purple in his hair. He slowly lifts his head and reveals that it was none other than Raven Blackheart. The look on his face was a confused one, as if he didn’t understand what he was doing there. His eyes search the area and he moves his hand to lift up a candle. He brings it close to his face.[/I]
“Let me tell you a story. It’s a redemption story. It’s not a happy one. It will never end happy. Why? Because my story, will have no happy ending. I’m going to take you back to 2010. I could have had it all. I had the manager that I cared for more than anything, because I was in love with her. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. The most amazing girl that you could possibly dream up. I had a tag team partner. One that was ruthless. One that was gritty. One that understood me, even though he wasn’t actually the best person in the world to me, I knew he meant well. Then a freak injury took it all away from it. It took my livelihood away. It took my DREAM….My dream. It took Sara. It took everything from me.. because It’s what started my addiction. Addictions.. That are hard to kick. But try and try as I might, I am unable to kick it. And what happens? The company that I busted my ass and my ankle for fires me.. THEY FIRE ME. Because I was unable to compete..
The firelight caught Raven’s eyes, and a mixture of anger and hurt were visibly seen. He closed them for a moment before sighing and reopening them.
“I went to Mexico and worked, before I got fired because of my cocaine addiction. And my addiction to prescription pain killers to try and numb the pain of everything I lost. So I gave up. I went home, and I was seriously contemplating suicide. I was within a couple of days of ending my life, until SH!TAKi called… I can say they single handedly saved a worthless life.
A smile played across Raven’s lips. He let a chuckle out and continued.
“But you, Ash Bloodstone. You don’t get that luxury. You don’t get anyone to help save your worthless life. You get me, in the ring. One on one. You get to feel the pent up aggression that I’ve held deep inside of me for five years. You see, Ash. I’ve don my research on you. Thanks to SH!TAKi, I got my…Manager back. Sara’s been coaching me through your entire arsenal of moves, your mannerisms, everything I need to know, about how to completely destroy you. And that’s exactly what’s going to happen. On Friday night, when you step into the ring with me, nothing that you do will effect me. You can’t hurt me. I’ve already hurt myself enough. That triple power bomb thing you do, won’t bother my back, because I’ve already broke my back trying to please everyone in my life. And it hasn’t worked yet. You see, Ashley.. I didn’t come to Osaka to lose. I didn’t come here to do anything less than strap my first championship around my waist, and to rekindle my…friendship with Sara. Ash…The limelight of fame is fleeting. You get your fifteen seconds…
Raven’s eyes widen at the sight of the candle in his hand. He quickly moves the flame right up to his mouth and sticks his tongue on top of the flame. His grip tightens on the candle and the flame goes out, leaving the room dark.
“…..And then it’s out. That’s exactly what’s going to happen on Friday, Ashley. You’re going to be extinguished. Your fifteen minutes are up. And my broken heart’s looking to become healed. Defeating you won’t completely do it, but it will put it on it’s way..”
----Meh. Not my best work, but it’s been two years since I’ve used him. Hopefully I get better as it goes on! Good luck, Ash!!---
